May the 4th Be with You!
Looking for the perfect way to celebrate Star Wars Day with a loved one (or really just excited to celebrate yourself)? We are too. That’s why we put together this Awesome round-up of our favorite Star Wars electronics, toys and trinkets for your journey to the dark side.
These ARE the Droids You’re Looking for...
A natural merchandising fit for the franchise was the roll out of remote controlled robots galore.
And of course, little R2 must be at the top of the list. The Hasbro Smart App Enabled R2-D2 is sturdy, cute and simple enough to control a toddler could get on board.
Our favorite BB-8 to hit the market was the Special Edition Battle-Worn BB-8 by Sphero with Force Band likely because the Force Band control really makes you feel like a Jedi.
The Star Wars Hero Droid BB-8 was the largest RC BB-8 made (nearly double the size of the Sphero) and is an excellent choice for younger fans. His voice-recognition and a “follow me” function make for instant-approval with young users and a Force-like bond between child and droid.
Propel Star Wars Quadcopter: Tie Fighter Collectors Edition Box
The amazing display cases alone make Propel fliers one of our favorite options in the galaxy. They can reach speeds up to 35mph but come with three speed settings, making them a great choice whether you're a novice or an expert pilot. Each unit is hand-painted to hobby quality and individually numbered, making them a great collectible item too!
Did we mention you can BATTLE up to 12 quadcopters at once?! Gather the troops!
Fighting for the Rebels? Check out the Propel Star Wars Quadcopter: X Wing Collectors Edition Box.
And yeah, two Propel options might be enough for some folks, but if you’re ready to transport yourself to the Forest of Endor check out this Speeder Bike Quadcopter Drone.
Air Hogs Remote Control Millennium Falcon
The bucket of bolts has never looked this good! With amazing attention to detail, this 27” drone has everything you remember about the fastest ship in the galaxy, right down to Han and Chewie in its light-up cockpit. With a range of 250 feet, a barometric pressure height lock system and a 6-axis gyro, this should keep your favorite scruffy-looking-nerf-herder busy for hours on end.
Other Awesome Stuff
I don’t think we could justify the purchase price of one of these, but if you can, we don’t judge (and we’re free most weekends)...this Death Star Fire Pit from Etsy artist BurnedbyDesignLtd’s is back-ordered by over a year but one sweet way to relive the glory of the Rebels win.
When searching for the official Star Wars Instant Pots I heard about, I came across the ENTIRE WILLIAMS SONOMA LINE OF STAR WARS MERCH AND HOLY HECK! If your Star Wars fan spends any time in the kitchen, this link is for them.
Arguably more nostalgic than the Star Wars franchise itself, LEGO has a MASSIVE collection available to celebrate Star Wars Day.
After a long wait for Baby Yoda gear (excuse me, “Grogu” UGH), fans finally are overloaded with options. Simple but practical, our favorite new item to hit the market is Exquisite Gaming’s The Child Phone and Controller Holder available on Amazon.
Speaking of Amazon, we love the latest Echo Dot (3rd Gen) Stand featuring The Child. Precisely manufactured, this skin is designed to have no negative impact on sound quality and we mean...HOW CUTE?! (You can also pre-order the 4th Gen Mandalorian Stand on Amazon now too.)
Since you’re checking out what Otterbox has created, peep their full line of Star Wars phone cases.
Decorating for my daughter’s first birthday led me to discovering this cool collection of Star Wars Graffiti Stickers by Realcome. Only the best for the Baby Ewok and her tribe...And these high-quality vinyl stickers really ARE the best, two years later my re-branded coffee grinder, water bottles and iPads are holding up just fine.
As long-time nerds, we have mixed feelings here at WhyFly about Disney taking over the Star Wars franchise. But one thing that’s hard to argue, is it sure is sweet having merch dropping left and right like the line that dropped this morning to celebrate Star Wars Day!
My personal favorite is this Wedge Antilles Battle Simulation Helmet by Hasbro that immerses you in Rogue Squadron roleplay with three internal speakers and synchronized LED lights that simulate blaster fire. You can even flip a switch to choose between his X-Wing Battle of Yavin or snowspeeder Battle of Hoth featuring communication from R2-A3.
But of course since I'm no expert here, be sure to check out the official list of Star Wars Day Deals from StarWars.com...pretty sure this Awesome nerd has spent entirely too much time geeking out on the company clock today.
